travel tips

We are so excited that you are joining us for our wedding at the iconic Gleneagles Hotel in the heart of Scotland. On this page we have prepared some travel tips for your journey to Scotland.

Getting There

Gleneagles is nestled among the rolling hills of Perthshire. Expect sweeping Highland landscapes, elegant charm of a grand dame hotel, and warm Scottish hospitality. While the hotel is located remotely in the countryside, it is relatively easy to get there.

Address: Gleneagles Hotel, Auchterarder, Perthshire, Scotland, PH3 1NF, United Kingdom

By car

As Gleneagles does not have a street address it may not be found on most systems, therefore if its standard postcode, PH3 1NF, is not recognised then please use the alternative postcode PH3 1SH which will bring you onto the Gleneagles Hotel resort.

For those who plan on driving by themselves, please keep in mind that the UK has left-hand traffic.

Gleneagles is easily reached from both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports. From both airports the drive is around one hour by car.

From Edinburgh Airport (EDI)
From Edinburgh Airport, Gleneagles is approximately a 1 hour drive (around 75 km). Simply follow signs for the M9 towards Stirling, then connect to the A9 northbound. Car hire is available directly at the airport, and taxis or private transfers can also be arranged.

From Glasgow Airport (GLA)
From Glasgow Airport, the journey takes approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes (around 80 km). Follow the M8 eastbound briefly before connecting to the M80 towards Stirling, then join the A9 north to Gleneagles. It is an easy motorway drive and a lovely introduction to Scotland’s landscapes. Car hire is available directly at the airport, and taxis or private transfers can also be arranged.

By train

From London Kings Cross
The hotel has its own train station, Gleneagles Station, offering a direct connection from London once a day (5.5 hours). Gleneagles offers complimentary transfers from Gleneagles Station to the hotel. Please contact the hotel ahead of your arrival to arrange a transfer. Note that the direct connection on 26th June only arrives in Gleneagles at 17:34, so you may miss out on the Friday afternoon activities if you chose this option.
